Reiki (pronounced “Ray- Key”) was rediscovered in Japan in the 1800s by Dr. Mikao Usui, a spiritually gifted Japanese scholar. Brought to the United States in the late 1930s, its healing energy has been passed on to practitioners through Reiki “attunements” which connect the therapist directly into this unlimited supply of “Life Force Energy”.
Reiki is not connected to any religious belief system. It is universal and available to each and every one of us if requested. Reiki is a catalyst for healing and enhances our bodies’ natural ability to heal.
Reiki energy is pure love which invokes connection, unconditional love, intention, prayer, listening, questioning and comforting.
Reiki sessions are soothing and can open us up to a much more spiritual and philosophical approach to life. It is complementary to any other treatments you are receiving and can cause no harm.
My name is Mary Alice Judy and I have been a Reiki Master since 2010 practicing in the Usui Reiki tradition. Clients in search of an alternative or complementary way to approach their health issues come to my practice. Daily, people of all ages experiencing various ailments seek my services for health sustaining ideas that may be outside the box of traditional medicine. The first result a client can expect to experience is relaxation, which puts the body into a posture for deep healing to occur naturally.
We are so accustomed to running to the medical doctor for treatment of all that ails us, and in many cases, this is absolutely necessary, but not always. Sometimes the drugs we take have so many side effects that it is really a poor trade-off for our overall health. There may be meds you must stay on, and Reiki will actually help them work better. Reiki is complementary and will enhance any other treatments you are using. I find this to be the real beauty of Reiki.
Many of our illnesses begin in the energetic realm surrounding our bodies before they settle into our physical bodies. As a matter of fact, that's what we are made of - energy, fairly dense energy. Our bodies know how to heal themselves and often, we are not able to quiet our minds enough to let them do the job they already know how to do. We worry and fret, we stay stressed to the point where our muscles are so tight from stress that we ache all over and feel tired all the time. Staying stressed is a full time job and saps away energy that could be going toward the healing of our bodies. Looking at it this way, it makes perfect sense. Reiki calms the body and helps put it into a more relaxed state where it has an opportunity to begin to heal itself. The healing seldom works overnight after one treatment. Think about it, how long did it take us to get into the state we are in? We didn't wake up one morning and suddenly discover that we are all stressed out, tired and achy. For most, it has taken a lifetime. I will not be able to tell you exactly how many sessions or how much time you will need to get on the road to recovery, all I can do is offer suggestions. Perhaps together we can come up with ideas on simple lifestyle adjustments that will help also. None of this has to be radical. Reiki is gentle and heals subtly. And perhaps, one session will be all it takes to put you on the road to recovery! I am always willing to meet with a prospective client to determine if Reiki might be of benefit to them.
Anyone in need of a private Reiki session or interested in a Reiki class, please give me a call. My schedule is flexible. I have a healing room here in my home in Saluda and can also hold Reiki classes here. I teach one on one or small groups. Perhaps you simply have a question about Reiki.
Please call me at 828-749-3887. I am here for any of you that need me. Love and blessings to all of you.
